Cerebral cortex

In the central nervous system, the term bark/cortex refers to the gray outer layers of the large and/or small brain.

If we talk about "cerebral cortex", plain and simple, it usually refers to the cortex of the large brain. If the cortex of the cerebellum is referred to, expressions such as "cerebellar cortex", "cortex of the cerebellum" etc. are usually used.
