These motor neurons (alpha and gamma motor neurons) mainly affect the muscles of the extremities (arms and legs). The motor neuron group is affected by, among other things, the signal flow in the outer crossed part of the pyramidal path (tractus cortico-spinalis lateralis), by signals in the tractus reticulo-spinalis and by signals in the tractus vestibulo-spinalis lateralis.
