Spinal cord end thread

Filum terminale

The final thread

a filamentous cord of glial cells and meninges which, counting from the lower terminus of the spinal cord, i.e. the segment Cocc1-3 (i.e. at the level of the vertebra L1 (L2)), extends downwards into the vertebral canal and attaches to the coccyx. The end thread counts as part of the ponytail.
