Usually and in general, the term relates to our ability to move, i.e. to the activity of our skeletal muscles.
In some contexts, "motor" refers to the outflow (efferensis) of signals from the CNS to the different effector cell types, i.e. to the striated skeletal and cardiac muscle, to smooth muscle and to glands.
