Cell group A7 is located, one group on the right side and one on the left side, rostral in the outer part of the reticular system in the pons, on the border of the mesencephalon/midbrain. The cell group is located on the inside of the upper cerebellar arm and ventrally about the locus coeruleus (cell group A6).
