Large cell part of the red nucleus

Nucleus ruber, pars magnocellularis

The large cell (magnocellular) part of the nucleus rubers receives signals from the somatomotor and somatosensory parts of the cerebral cortex and from the nucleus interpositus in the cerebellum. The large cellular part of the nucleus ruber gives rise to the tractus rubrospinalis insignificant in humans, terminating in the anterior horns of the upper part of the spinal cord.
