The cerebro/pontocerebellum is by far the largest (>60% of cerebellum volume) of the three functional main parts of the cerebellum. The other two are the vestibulocerebellum and the spinocerebellum.
The inflow of signals - afference - to the cerebrocerebellum emanates from the nucleus reticularis tegmenti pontis, from the lower olive nucleus and, above all, from the pons nuclei, which in turn have received a massive influx of signals from the cerebral cortex, especially from the frontal and parietal lobes.
The result of the Cerebro/Pontocerebellum information processing is delivered to the dentatus nucleus, which sends efferent impulses out of the cerebellum and into the upper cerebellar arm.
