Ganglion of the triplet nerve

ganglion trigemineale

Ganglion Gasseri, Trigeminal Ganglia, Ganglion Semilunare

This is the sensory ganglion of the triplet nerve. It contains the cell bodies of the nerve fibers that mediate pressure, touch, elongation, pain and temperature from the face with cavities but not the cell bodies of muscle-joint-sensory filaments. These are located in the narrow mesencephalic trigeminal nucleus.
