Step 1.

Superficial external cerebral arteries. Unfold the list. Identify the different arteries and check their supply areas.

Step 2.

Middle cerebral artery with its (superficial) end branches. Here you only see the middle cerebral artery and its vessels of origin, i.e. the internal carotid artery (a. carotid internal). In the next step, we open up the side channel so that we can access the Island (Insula).

Step 3.

The superficial terminal branches of the middle cerebrum artery and their beginnings in the depths of the lateral channel on top of the Island. Now the parts of the frontal, parietal and occipital lobes - i.e. the corresponding "caps" (operculars) - have been cut away and the insula is exposed. The central cerebrum's artery comes out into the lateral furrow and divides into its so-called trunks, which wrap around each other and form a real arterial snake's nest on top of the insula. Often in the depths of the lateral furrow three stems can be distinguished: a front (orange), a middle (violet) and a posterior (bright red). When these have emerged from the lateral channel, their various branches form the terminal part of the middle cerebral artery (terminal part; here bright red)
